Exhibits and Awards

The Peteetneet Museum, in Payson, Utah displays several of Mary's gourds along with many fine examples of sculpture, paintings and local memorabelia.

An exhibit at the UVSC Woodbury Gallery, in Orem Utah showed three pieces of Mary's work. One of these gourds was presented an Award of Merit in May, 2005. Mary also won an Honorable Mention at this show last year.

Mary was recently honored by the purchase of two of her pieces by the US Botanical Gardens, in Washington, D.C. for a display currently being created for unique works of art.

Mary was selected by the Utah Arts Council for an exhibit beginning March 17, 2006-April 26, 2006 at the Rio Gallery in Salt Lake City, Utah.

An example of one of Mary's sculpted gourds appeared in the May/June, 2003 edition on the American Gardener magazine. Her website was listed in an article on gourd art in the Cinncinati Post. Mary has also had examples of her art appear in the Utah Valley Magazine, as well as in several local newspapers.

Mary has participated in the Festival of the American West, demonstrating the heirloom art of gourd craft techniques in 1999 and 2000, at the Jensen Historical Farm, Wellsville, Utah. She also had an example of her work appear at the Utah State Capitol in 2000.

An Award Of Merit was presented to Mary's Maple Symphony at the Springville Museum Of Art, April, 2011.

July, 2012-first place award for Steampunk'd, at the Summer Showcase, Covey Center For The Arts in Provo, Utah.

Mary also teaches classes on gourd art at the Hone Studio in Benjamin, Utah.
